Back. With Meds that Stabilise Me.

Yup. After twenty years, I’ve finally got meds that stabilise me. Well, I’ve been stable for the last 3 1/2 months, which is far longer than anything else has ever worked.

I’m currently taking  Carbamazepine (Tegretol) – about 200 mg in the morning, 100 mg twice during the day and 200 mg in the evening.

I have no idea why the meds are working. But it is working for me, and I’m not going to complain. I’m just happy that my mood swings have stabilised, and that I can get on with my life.

So yay!

  1. This is wonderful news!!! I’m thrilled for you!!!!! :))))))) It took me about 7 & 1/2 years and that was bad enough. Believe me when I tell you I know how huge this is. Take good care, Dyane

  2. p.s. I’m trying to cut down on subscribing to blogs because I’m busy promoting my book and giving talks & webinars + raising two young children….but I can’t resist subscribing to your blog because this post has totally inspired me, LOL!

  3. Really good to read some hopeful comments about the meds…there are far too many scary stories out there about meds that we may need, for whatever it is we’ve got…thank heavens you’ve found something that works well for you…after being on the wrong meds for more than a month and hopping off suddenly and having an “extreme state”…i’m now on what i feel is right for me. Thank the heavens and the scientists who make the medicine to help those of us who really do need it. Wishing you well for the future.
